Helena blows out Bozeman, 9-1

The Helena Bighorns were firing on all cylinders against the Bozeman Icedogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Bighorns emerged with a 9-1 win.

Sebastian Hansson had one goal and three assists to lead Helena. Hansson scored 9:25 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Helena. Theo Campe provided the assist.

The Bighorns were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and three majors for 27 minutes in penalty time. Helena surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. The Bighorns stifled Bozeman\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icedogs were unable to stop Helena from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bighorns eventually piled up 50 shots on goal. Helena outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Bighorns average 6.4 goals per contest. Helena\’s defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Helena additionally got points from Campe, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Damon Hanson, who also tallied one goal and three assists, and Austin Buckholtz, who also racked up one goal and one assist.
