The Bozeman Icedogs are happy to welcome a new addition to the coaching staff for the 2014-2015 season. Mack Miessner will be join Mark Vichorek's staff after many years coaching in Alaska.
"Mack Miessner contacted me a couple months ago about working with the team this season. I spoke with Mack about his role and experience and I thought he deserved to be interviewed for a full time position" said Vichorek. Team owner Alec Nisbet and Vichorek interviewed Miessner for the position and it worked out nicely for Mack and the team. Mack took a few days to speak with his wife and family about it and came back to to the Icedogs with a yes. "We are extremely excited about him joining the Icedog family" Vichorek expressed.
Mack is familiar with the teams in the new Frontier Division of the NA3HL having played for the Great Falls Americans of the old AWHL in 1994-95 season. The seven teams that made up the AWHL joined the NA3HL in May. Mack and his wife and two boys moved to Bozeman recently to be relocated with his wife's family and her job related move from Anchorage, Alaska.
Coach Vichorek has this to say about the teams new addition. "We are very lucky to have a person of this quality and character join our leadership team. Mack will be a great addition to our staff and already has been working hard and getting more involved on the coaching aspect as well as off ice details". After Kyle Bailey, former player and last year's assistant coached moved up within the league as the Head Coach of the Nationals in Havre, Montana the position became available. Vichorek added, "We interviewed several people for this important position and Mack was the best fit. He will help us in many ways and it just adds to the excitement of the upcoming season."
