Defenseman of the Month:NICK THOMPSON – Bozeman Icedogs
As he has done all season long, Bozeman defenseman Nick Thompson, 19, had another good month. The 6’4/195 lbs. native of Esko, MN, led the Icedogs to a 4-1-3 month of December as he piled up 11 points in the eight games along with a +8 rating. Thompson had at least a point in six of the eight games and had four multi-point games. His best outing was a three-point effort in a 6-2 win against Gillette on December 11th. This is the second time this season that Thompson has been honored as the NA3HL Defenseman of the Month, having won the award in October. He leads all NA3HL defensemen, as well as the Icedogs, in scoring with 42 points in 28 games played. "Nick has been a force for us all season and he logs a lot of ice time. He is always under control and controlling the game for us and helps settle things down when we need it. He is a top player in our league and has gotten some looks to be called up to the NAHL and that is well deserved for him," said Bozeman head coach Mark Vichorek.
