Bozeman’s comeback falls short, xHelena wins 3-1

The xHelena Bighorns, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Bozeman Icedogs and clinched a 3-1 victory.

xHelena led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Bighorns\’ Corbin Belling\’s scored at 13:07 in the first period to put xHelena up 3-0.

Belling had two goals to lead the Bighorns to victory.

xHelena was held below its usual level of production. The Bighorns put an average of 6.6 pucks into the net per game.

xHelena also got a goal from Jacob Wolter as well. Other players who recorded assists for xHelena were Logan Henne, who had two and Dylan Webster, Addison Wells, Parker Olson, and Sebastian Hansson, who each chipped in one.

Bozeman excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Icedogs found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against xHelena\’s defense.

Bozeman was led by Jake Nelson, who scored the team\’s only goal. Nelson scored on the power play 19:02 into the first period to make the score 3-1 xHelena. An interference penalty on Danny Case had put the Icedogs on the power play. Garret Bryan provided the assist.

Alek Lazarski rejected 12 shots on goal for the Bighorns. xHelena incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Zach Skop recorded 25 saves for Bozeman. The Icedogs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
