Helena downs Bozeman in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Helena pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Bozeman on a clutch goal by John Greer.

Blake Babineau and Greer provided the spark for Helena, combining for three goals and one assist. Babineau had two goals and one assist and Greer also added one goal.

Helena\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Bozeman power plays. Helena kept Bozeman\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephen Frank made 29 saves on 32 shots.

More assists for Helena came via Connor Dunn, Jay Forbes, Brandon Mills, and Michael Ballard, who contributed one each.

Bozeman did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Bozeman averages 4.3 goals per game.

Bozeman was led by Elliott Hopkins, who grabbed two goals. Hopkins scored the first of his two goals at 10:43 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Gunnar Mogck picked up the assist. Hopkins\’ next tally made the score 2-1 Bozeman with 4:34 left in the second period. Casey Gobel assisted on the tally. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Steven Nisbet and Nicholas Thompson, who each chipped in one.

Helena\’s Grant Martens stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Helena incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Bozeman incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bozeman ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Klatt was ejected from the game.
