Huge game by Bratten boosts Helena over Bozeman, 4-1

The Helena Bighorns\’ Sam Bratten had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team\’s 4-1 win over the Bozeman Icedogs.

Bratten scored 17:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Helena. John Petersson picked up the assist. Bratten dished an assist on Kyle Baker\’s goal that made the score 1-0 Helena at 14:32 into the first period. He added another helper on Baker\’s goal that made the score 4-1 Helena at 19:30 into the third period.

Helena excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Bighorns were held below their usual level of production. Helena puts an average of 6.6 pucks into the net per game. The Bighorns\’ offense rang up 34 shots on Bozeman\’s net.

Helena also got a goal from John Bonta as well. More assists for Helena came via Theo Campe, who had two and Logan Henne and Rory Bock, who contributed one a piece.

The Icedogs\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Helena power plays.

Bozeman was led by Ryan Erickson, who scored the team\’s only goal. Erickson scored 5:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Helena. Gunnar Mogck assisted on the tally.

Helena\’s Austin Brihn stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Bighorns incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Skop made 30 saves for the Icedogs on 33 shots. Bozeman incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
