Behind a great game by Kegan Couture, who had two goals and one assist, Bozeman defeated Billings, 5-2.
Couture\’s tallies came at 2:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman and 14:53 into the second to make the score 5-1 Bozeman.
Billings\’ power play was ineffective against Bozeman\’s penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.
Billings was unable to stop Bozeman from sending pucks towards the net, and Bozeman eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. Bozeman could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.
Bozeman also got points from AJ ODell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Bozeman also had goals scored by Liam Millar and Steven Nisbet, who each put in one. Billings was helped by Chris Nicolai, who tallied one goal. Nicolai scored 12:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bozeman. Cameron Birklid picked up the assist. Billings also got a goal from Dillon Steh as well. In addition, Billings received assists from Jacob Yoho and Mason Graves, who contributed one each.
Stephen Frank made 28 saves for Bozeman on 30 shots. Bozeman registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Gage Overby rejected 42 shots on goal for Billings. Billings ended with 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Billings, Austin Lange was ejected from the game.
