Huge game by Hansson boosts xHelena over Bozeman, 6-3

Sebastian Hansson had two goals and one assist to lead the xHelena Bighorns to a 6-3 victory over the Bozeman Icedogs.

Hansson found the back of the net 3:38 into the third period to make the score 5-3 xHelena and again while on the power play 13:09 into the third to make the score 6-3 xHelena.

xHelena\’s penalty kill excelled, as the Bighorns gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

In a losing effort, Bozeman was led by Gunnar Mogck, who finished with two goals and one assist. Mogck scored the first of his two goals at 19:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bozeman. Kegan Couture provided the assist. Mogck\’s next tally made the score 4-3 xHelena with 1:29 left in the second period. The Icedogs earned a power play opportunity when Matt Mohar was put in the box for kneeing. Chase Engdahl assisted on the tally.

xHelena kept Bozeman\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Zach Skop made 46 saves on 52 shots.

xHelena also got points from Austin Loes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ryan Webber, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for xHelena included Dylan Webster and Corbin Belling, who scored one goal each. More assists for xHelena came via Logan Henne, who had two and Theo Campe, Nick Okada, Damon Hanson, Danny Case, Brian Skillicorn, and Austin Buckholtz, who each chipped in one.

Bozeman additionally got points from Couture, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Jake Nicks, Ryan Erickson, and Patrick Anaruk, who contributed one a piece.

Austin Brihn made 18 saves for the Bighorns on 21 shots. xHelena incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Icedogs ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major.
