Peoria had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Bozeman.
Thomas Kolaz was all over the ice for Peoria, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Kolaz scored 9:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Andrej Buchko picked up the assist.
Peoria forced Bozeman\’s goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 52 shots and forcing 45 saves. Charlie Smart made 17 stops and Stephen Frank made 28. Peoria excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Peoria found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Peoria has scored at the pace of 4.6 goals per game during the current campaign.
Peoria also got points from Aaron Siegrist, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Buchko, who also had one goal and two assists, and Braden Stewart, who also registered one goal and one assist. Peoria also got a goal from Austin Wisely as well. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Dane Federighi, Jason Hoehn, and Mark Candotti, who each chipped in one.
Bozeman was led by Kegan Couture, who grabbed one goal. Couture scored short handed 16:32 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Peoria. Bozeman found itself down a man on John Dixon\’s hooking. Duncan McGarrah also scored for Bozeman. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Ryan Peterson, who had one.
Peoria\’s Derek Fitzgerald stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Peoria incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bozeman incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
