Hosting an Icedogs player (billeting) is a great experience, whether you have a house full of your own kids or you live alone. This relationship has proved very rewarding to both players and the host family. It is this personal relationship with the community that BAHA and the Icedogs are most proud of.
The players arrive in early September and stay through out the hockey season (until about mid March or early April). They range in ages from 16 to 20 years old. Many of the player will be in high school or taking college classes.
Each month you will receive a $300 stipend for each player hosted to help defer some of the expenses incurred. Season tickets are also offered at a reduced rate to billet families. We ask that you provide a private room and nutritious meals for your player or have food on hand that the player can prepare on their own. Players should be considered “one of the family” and not just a renter or boarder. We ask that you help us enforce the team rules related to curfew, visitors and behavior.
