Mike Perkins

The Bozeman Icedogs of the NA3HL have announced Mike Perkins as GM/Head Coach. Perkins is no stranger to junior hockey in Montana, he was assistant coach of the Butte Irish in 2001-2002. After his time in Butte, Perkins went on to become associate head coach and assistant general manager of the Wichita Falls Rustlers/Wildcats of the AWHL/NAHL from 2002 to 2006. From there Perkins went on to coach the SoCal Titans of the NAPHL, the Fresno Monsters of the NAHL and has worked in the Anaheim Jr. Ducks programs for the last 10 years.

Doug Sheridan

 

Sheridan, a longtime face in the youth hockey community in Southern California brings a wealth of player recruiting experience and business background. Sheridan has coached with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks, Orange County Hockey Club, was the Hockey Director for the Beach City Lightning, scouted for the Fresno Monsters of the NAHL and for Northstar Christian Academy a Tier 1 prep school in Alexandria, MN. Sheridan currently is the Hockey Director and Head Coach of Resurrection Christian Academy in Loveland, CO. Sheridan has also been the President and CEO of Sheridan Mortgage for over 25 years.

Assistant Coach

Jeff Burton

The Bozeman Icedogs of the NA3HL have announced Jeff Burton as Assistant Coach. Burton is an elite skills instructor and has trained players at the NHL, NWHL, Olympic, college, Tier 1 – USHL and Tier 2 – NAHL levels. His roles with the Icedogs will include bench coaching, skills training, tactical coaching, strength and conditioning, player identification and recruiting.
“Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our staff,” said GM/Head Coach Mike Perkins. “I’m most excited for the players who will receive high end coaching on a daily basis. His passion for the game and developing players is contagious. Jeff and I were teammates in college (NCAA D3 hockey and baseball) and there is no one I trust more than my teammates.”
Burton grew up playing youth hockey in Minneapolis eventually becoming a NCAA All-American at the College of St. Scholastica. Burton most recently was the Director of Hockey Operations at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.
“Working with players who aspire to play college hockey is what I do,” said Burton. “I’m looking forward to getting on the ice with the players and growing their games. I’m really excited to get to Bozeman and to meet everyone.”

 

 

 

Goaltending Coach / Scout

Riese Niehaus

For the last eight years Coach Riese has been working for one of the premier AAA programs in the west, the Colorado Rampage. With an emphasis in fine skill development and goalie coaching at the 18U AAA level, Riese also helped develop and coach the Rampage’s Tier programs and 8 & Under Program Alongside coaching, Riese was the Director of Player Personnel and Director of Hockey Operations, which included programming development, fees, scouting, personnel management, family advisorship and registrations. This past year Coach Riese took on a new challenge of helping GM Doug Sheridan lay the foundation for the state of Colorado’s first High School Prep Team in the Resurrection Christian Cougars of Loveland, Colorado.
