James Pyle finished with two points to lead the Yellowstone Quake to a 6-2 victory over the Bozeman Icedogs.
Yellowstone surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Quake average 2.9 goals per game.
Yellowstone additionally got points from Sawyer Scanlan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Mike McCullen, who also registered one goal and one assist. Yellowstone also had goals scored by Jaden Sveinson, Reed Kaiser, and Cosimo Yapello, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Josh Neumann, who had three and Edison Elder, Avery Lison, and Ryan Garvey, who each chipped in one.
Bozeman stifled Yellowstone\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Quake were unable to stop the Icedogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Bozeman eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.
The Icedogs were helped by Ryan Erickson, who had one goal and one assist. Erickson scored on the power play 16:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Yellowstone. Bozeman had gained a power play chance when Kaiser was whistled for holding. Steven Nisbet assisted on the tally. Bozeman also got points from Kegan Couture, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Bozeman came via Chase Engdahl, who had one.
Sean Leahy rejected 37 shots on goal for Yellowstone. The Quake incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Icedogs took out Devin Day after he had made one save and installed Zach Skop in goal, where he finished with 22 saves and the loss. Bozeman incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
